Sewer line work at Grassy Creek starts this week

PERRYSBURG — Repairs and rehabilitation work of the sanitary sewer interceptor along Grassy Creek will begin this week from Mulberry to East Boundary Street. The city has hired Insituform Technologies as the contractor for this project.

The first two stages are scheduled to begin as early as this week with drone videos being taken of the properties adjacent to the sewer. This is so crews can document the current conditions and refer to them later during restoration. Sewer cleaning is also scheduled to take place starting at Mulberry Street heading towards East Boundary.

The map highlights the sewer route where the work will take place. Contractors will need to gain access to manholes along the route, which may require tree trimming and brush clearing. Existing private structures such as fences and sheds may need to be temporarily removed or relocated by the contractor. Contractors and/or city staff will be in contact with property owners where such work needs to be performed.

Letters were sent to approximately 75 residents who may be affected by this project.

An open house will be held on Feb. 15, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Municipal Building, in city council chambers, so residents can ask questions about the anticipated work at individual properties. The Municipal Building is at 201 W. Indiana Ave.

The project is expected to be completed sometime this summer. All work is weather dependent, and traffic will be maintained. Residents with questions about this project can contact Perrysburg’s Division of Engineering at 419-87207880.
