Otsego holds onto lead, downs Eastwood, 53-48

PEMBERVILLE — Otsego grabbed a six-point halftime lead and unlike several other Northern Buckeye Conference losses, the Knights didn’t blow it, going on to defeat Eastwood 53-48 Friday.

As a result, the Eagles, 7-6 overall and 6-2 in the NBC, drop back into a first place tie with Fostoria, which is 11-3 and 6-2. Otsego is 7-6 and 2-5.

Devin Silva led Otsego with 24 points, including four three-point goals, and Carter Lampe had two triples in scoring 14 points.

Kaidyn Hutton scored nine points, Jack Simpson scored five points, and Drew Gase scored one point for the Knights. Otsego had seven triples, was 10-for-16 from the line, and had 16 turnovers.

Andrew Badenhop and Drew Luidhardt led Eastwood with 12 points each, Dayquan Oliver scored nine points, Andre Lewis scored seven points, Kadyn Donnell and Drew Kachmarik scored three points each, and Caleb Souder added two points.

Badenhop and Luidhardt each made three shots from the arc and Lewis had two triples while Eastwood had 11 as a team. The Eagles had just eight turnovers, but were just 3-of-10 from the free throw line.
