OMEA District 1 Honors Festival is Sunday

Sunday is the Ohio Music Education Association District 1 Honors Festival at the Stranahan Theater and Great Hall in Toledo.

The festival will feature both junior high and high school honors bands, choirs, and orchestras. Ensembles are made up of students from nearly 70 schools across Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Lucas, Wood, and Williams counties in Northwest Ohio.

Guest conductors include Daryl Silberman and Colleen Tan (orchestra), Damien Crutcher and Alexander Kaminsky (band) and Brody McDonald and Emily Pence Brown (choir).

The junior high concert begins at 2:30 p.m., and the high school concert is at 7 p.m.

Concerts are free and open to the public.
