Patrol investigates Wood County crash

Earlier today, at approximately 2:13 p.m., troopers from the Bowling Green Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol responded to a three-vehicle crash that occurred on Interstate 75 north of Ohio 582 in Middleton Township.

Abigail McPeak, 24, of Bowling Green, was driving a 2004 Volkswagen Beetle southbound on I-75 in the middle lane.

Robert Hill, 42, of Beloit, Wisconsin was driving a 2021 Freightliner semi tractortrailer combination southbound in the right lane.

Yusef Burnett, 27, of Toledo, was driving a 2012 Ford Escape southbound in the left lane when he changed lanes abruptly to the right and lost control of his vehicle. He struck the side of Hill’s trailer and then struck McPeak’s vehicle.

Burnett’s vehicle and McPeak’s vehicle both went off the left side of the roadway and struck the median cable. Burnett’s vehicle overturned onto its side in the median.

He was transported to Perrysburg Mercy Hospital by Middleton Township EMS with non-life-threatening injuries. He was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Hill and McPeak were wearing their seatbelts.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Middleton Township Fire Department, Middleton Township EMS, Ohio Department of Transportation, Bubba ’s Towing and BG Towing.
