Rosa-lee “Rosie” Vollmar, 85, of Maumee, Ohio passed away November 4, 2023 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. She was born September 30, 1938 in Waterville, Ohio to the late Leslie and Elizabeth (Wardner) Shufelt. She married Richard D. Vollmar on June 23, 1956 and he preceded her in death on September 21, 2015.
Rosie was a member of the Tontogany American Legion Post 441 Ladies Auxiliary for nearly 65 years. She enjoyed bowling and shopping. Her greatest joy was her family and there was nothing she enjoyed more then spending time with them at cookouts and parties.
She is survived by her children Jeffery (Teri) Vollmar of Shelby Twp., Michigan, Jane Herwat (Kathy Pullen) of Erie, Michigan and Jennifer (David) Sheidler of Perrysburg, Ohio, grandchildren Kristy Herwat, Natalie Vollmar, Ashley (Bobby) Dunn, Haley (Casey) Binggeli, Christopher Pullen, Adam Pullen and Mandi Pullen as well as 10 great-grandchildren.
Rosie was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Richard, her parents and siblings Eugene Shufelt, Elma Zelman, Neva Hall, Charles Shufelt and Nancy Bressler.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 8, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 7220 Dutch Rd. Waterville, Ohio 43566. Her funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday November 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Waterville.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the excellent care they provided Rosie in her final days.
