Ottawa man indicted for attempted rape

An Ottawa man has been indicted for attempted rape and three Wood County residents face sex-related allegations.

A Wood County grand jury on Nov. 1 indicted Neil J. Diemer, 53, of Ottawa and currently in jail, for attempted rape, a first-degree felony; importuning, a third-degree felony; disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, a fifth-degree felony; and possessing criminal tools, also a fifth-degree felony.

On Oct. 29, he allegedly attempted to engage in sex with another who was under the age of 13.

This charge has a specification of forfeiture of a 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500.

On Sept. 8, he allegedly solicited a law enforcement officer posing as a juvenile to engage in sex and also allegedly provided the law enforcement officer with material that was obscene.

He allegedly used a Samsung Galaxy photo.

Jean Manuel Mulero Rodriguez, 21, Bowling Green, was indicted for four counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person, all second-degree felonies.

On Aug. 15, the Bowling Green Police Division received a report from the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children data system of a detailed report from Snapchat that had been sent to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding a user account allegedly traced back to Rodriguez.

Rodriguez allegedly used a Snapchat account three times on May 9 and once on July 3 to publish obscene material involving a minor as a participant.

He was taken to jail and later posted $60,000 bond.

Michael Jason Vasko, 41, Perrysburg, was indicted for four counts disseminating matter harmful to juveniles and three counts importuning, all fifth-degree felonies.

On Oct. 16, he allegedly solicited sex from a juvenile or a law enforcement officer posing as a juvenile.

On Oct. 17, he allegedly provided a juvenile or a law enforcement officer posing as a juvenile, material or performance that was obscene. On that day, he also twice allegedly solicited a law enforcement officer posing as a juvenile to engage in sex.

Twice on Oct. 19 and once on Oct. 23, he allegedly provided material or performance that was obscene to a juvenile or law enforcement officer posing as a juvenile.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Nicole Chime, 40, Pemberville, was indicted for one count of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person, a fourth-degree felony; and tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony.

From March 1-April 30, 2022, Chime allegedly possessed obscene material that had a minor as a participant.

On June 5, 2023, she allegedly destroyed or removed documents to impair their value while knowing an investigation was either about to start or was in progress.

Indictments merely contain allegations; defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
