To the editor,
We, the undersigned, make up the Board of the Eagleville Joint Ambulance District. Voters will find that we have an initial levy on the November 7th ballot and may wonder what the Eagleville Joint Ambulance District is all about.
The trustees of Bloom and Perry Townships along with the village councils of Bairdstown, Bloomdale, Cygnet, and West Millgrove have created this District. Currently, volunteer EMS provides services for all of Bloom Township and most of Perry Township. Eagleville Joint Ambulance District was created in recognition that there is a diminishing number of volunteers and calls for emergency services are increasing. The goal of the District is to provide full-time EMS coverage with a station centrally located among the townships and villages.
Eagleville Joint Ambulance District is formed and this levy will provide the funds to allow operations.
If residents or taxpayers have questions, the next Board meeting will be held on Wednesday November 8 at 6 p.m. at the Perry Township Fire Station.
