Visit BG Ohio has announced the four recipients of its 2024 Tourism Marketing Grant are the Bowling Green Curling Club, Wood County Historical Society, BRAVE, and the Ohio Wine Producers.

The Visit BG Ohio Tourism Marketing Grant is open to businesses and organizations located in Bowling Green to help promote tourism and visitor activities within the city.

Bowling Green Curling Club’s grant will go towards their Eclipspiel Event, scheduled for April 4-8, to coincide with the total solar eclipse, April 8. Fifty rooms have already been booked in the Bowling Green area for visitors to the Eclipspiel Event, with visitors from 20 states and Canada already registered to attend.

The Wood County Historical Society received grant funding for the 2024 iteration of their annual Living History Weekend. These new funds will allow the event to expand from a one-day event to a three-day event, slated for May 3-5, 2024.

BRAVE’s funding is for their Juneteenth Festival to provide a unique cultural and artistic experience for the community. With music artists traveling to Bowling Green from Dayton, Detroit, Cleveland, Columbus and Atlanta, BRAVE’s Juneteenth Festival should be a great event for the community that draws many visitors.

The final grant went to the Ohio Wine Producers to give funding to the annual VINO Festival, which is scheduled for Oct. 19, 2024. This would be the third consecutive year that the Ohio Wine Producers received one of the Tourism Marketing Funds, with this year’s focus on growing the event into a two-day affair. Already, the VINO Festival has 38,000 email subscribers and 20,000 social media followers ready to travel to Bowling Green.

In addition to the four tourism marketing grants, Visit BG Ohio pledged continued support to the Black Swamp Arts Festival and National Tractor Pulling Championships. Visit BG Ohio will continue to support both events with shuttles to the events from downtown Bowling Green and many of the hotels around the city.

Visit BG Ohio exists to promote business and tourism in Bowling Green. Under the chamber of commerce’s umbrella, Visit BG Ohio continues to help grow and promote the events and businesses in the city.
