Valeria Viola Nye, 91, of Bloomdale, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at her home.
She was born May 7, 1932 in Hancock County to the late Edward R. and Ida M. (Coleman) Bentz. She married Edward J. Nye on September 3, 1951 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church and he preceded her in death December 20, 1990.
Surviving is a daughter, Lucinda (Robert) Wisner, Findlay; sons, Thomas E. Nye, Bloomdale; Dennis A. (Sandy) Nye, Bloomdale and Terry A. Nye, McClure; grandsons, Thomas E. Nye Jr., Mark James Nye, Matthew A. Nye and James E. Nye; great-grandchildren, Caden and Kendal Nye; and sister, Eileen Baney, Fostoria.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph Nye; sister, Clara C. Bentz; and brother, Darrell Bentz.
Valeria was a homemaker and farm wife. She had been a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church.
Visitation is Sunday, October 15, 2023 from 2-4 pm at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830. Funeral services will begin at 11 am Monday, October 16, 2023 at the funeral home with Deacon David Schiefer presiding. Burial will follow in St. Wendelin Cemetery. A funeral luncheon will then take place at the funeral home.
