GRAND RAPIDS — The Grand Rapids Arts Council has announced its upcoming Harvest Moon Gala to be held on Oct. 15 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Nazareth Hall. This fundraising event includes a sit-down fall dinner prepared by the Nazareth Hall chef, a silent auction, door prizes, 50/50 raffle, and entertainment by David Crone of I’m No Dummy Productions.

The silent auction will feature original art by local artists and items as well as items donated by businesses and supporters of the arts. Baker O’Brien, local but world-renowned glass artist, donates a beautiful piece from her collection, and there are also holiday decorations including holiday decorations, books, clothing, original paintings, and baskets with various themes. Door prizes are generous gift certificates from local restaurants or businesses.

Presentation of the Grand Rapids Volunteer of the Year will be a highlight of the evening.

Ventriloquist David Crone will select from his cast of characters, blend in a touch of comedy magic and incorporate lots of audience interaction. He has been performing on stage for more than 30 years. A former corporate executive, Crone left the comforts of the corner office for a rugged life on the road when his busy performance schedule no longer allowed him to “do both.” He will inspire the audience ready to take on their next big challenge with renewed energy, and best of all, joy and laughter. Everything David does is driven by his personal mission statement: Making the world a better place, one laugh at a time.

Cost for the evening is $35 per person. Reserve seats or a table of eight by calling 419-206-1512 or email [email protected].
