Men indicted for 1st-degree felony drug trafficking

Three men have been indicted for first-degree felony drug trafficking.

A Wood County grand jury on Sept. 6 indicted co-defendants Antonio Lee Jones Sr., 31, and Victor James Byrd, 35, both of Detroit, for trafficking in heroin and possession of heroin, both first-degree felonies with major drug offender specifications; and trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound and possession of a fentanyl-related compound, both first-degree felonies.

On Aug. 18, they allegedly were found in possession of and were preparing for distribution 332.83 grams of heroin and more than 50 grams of a fentanyl-related compound.

Jones also was indicted for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, after he was allegedly found in possession of oxycodone.

Richard Matthew Bowen, 36, Cincinnati, was indicted for aggravated possession of drugs and aggravated trafficking in drugs, both first-degree felonies.

On Aug. 11, he allegedly was found in possession of and was preparing for distribution more than 50 times the bulk amount of psilocyn.

The grand jury also indicted:

• Eston Kanyuira Macharia, 36, Bowling Green, for two counts of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a drug of abuse or a combination of them (OVI), both fourth-degree felonies. On Aug. 23, he allegedly drove while under the influence and allegedly had a blood alcohol level of 0.17. He had previously been convicted of three counts of driving under the influence within the last 10 years, twice in Wood County and once in Sandusky County.

• Jared Jiles Hummel, 31, Bowling Green, for abusing harmful intoxicants, a fifth-degree felony. Officers responded to a report of an unresponsive man in Bairdstown on Aug. 11. They found Hummel sitting on the front porch of the home. He allegedly ingested compressed air from the Dust-Off can.

He was indicted a second time for the same charge as well as theft, a first-degree misdemeanor. On Aug. 24 in Bowling Green, police responded to a report of a man slumped over in the 1000 block of North Main Street. The man was identified as Hummel and he allegedly had in his possession two cans of aerosol duster. He admitted taking the bottles without payment. He was medically cleared before being taken to jail, where he remains on a $10,000 bond.

• Austin Isaacs, 26, Lima, for felonious assault, a second-degree felony with repeat violent offender specifications; and domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor. On Aug. 19 in the 13000 block of West Poe Road, Isaacs allegedly was engaged in a physical fight and when the alleged victim tried intervening, he allegedly shoved her to the ground multiple times, then tried to choke her and kicked her multiple times in the head while wearing steel toed boots. The woman allegedly suffered serious head injury and loss of blood and was going in and out of consciousness. Isaacs were convicted of complicity to commit aggravated robbery in 2015 in Wood County. He is currently in jail on a $60,000 bond.

• Landon David Mantey, 22, Maumee, for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony; and possession of LSD, a fourth-degree felony. On May 5, he allegedly was found in possession of psilocyn and more than 10 unit doses of LSD in solid form.

• Isaiah Damon Solomon, 24, Wauseon, for violating a protection order, a fifth-degree felony. On May 12, he allegedly recklessly violated the terms of a protection order. He has previously been convicted of the same charge in 2021 in Perrysburg Municipal Court. He is currently incarcerated at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility.

• Co-defendants Gage Austin Lanham, 23, Cedar Grove, West Virginia, and Jordan McCay Clark, 24, Glasgow, West Virginia, for trafficking in marijuana and possession of marijuana, both third-degree felonies. On March 23, they allegedly were found in possession of and were preparing for distribution more than 1,000 grams of marijuana.

• Melanie Lynn Justus, 43, Bowling Green, for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. On May 28, she was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine.

• Co-defendants Hunter Holub, 22, and Nickolas R. Watts, 18, both of Portland, Tennessee, both for possession of LSD, a third-degree felony. On March 25, they allegedly were found with more than 50 unit doses of LSD in solid form.

• Rachel Nickels, 47, of Wauseon and formerly of Bowling Green, for grand theft of a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony. On April 2 while temporarily living in Luckey, she was given permission to borrow a vehicle. She allegedly failed to return the vehicle at the prescribed time.

• Hunter James Sutton, 26, Perrysburg, for breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony. On May 2, he allegedly by force trespassed into an unoccupied structure with the purpose of committing theft. He had been indicted in June for the same offense after being accused of breaking into Alehouse Bar at Woodland Mall and taking $1,800 worth of property. That case was dismissed without prejudice in August, which allowed the state to refile the charges at a later date.

• Miguel E. Rodriguez, 60, Findlay, for obstructing official business, a fifth-degree felony; and resisting arrest and failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, both first-degree misdemeanors. On June 9 in Perrysburg, an officer clocked a red sedan on West South Boundary going 40-42 mph in a 25-mph zone. The vehicle turned onto Margaret Place, jumped the curb and continued onto Maurice Place and then back onto West South Boundary. The officer had lights and siren activated the entire time. After stopping, Rodriguez asked the officer why he was stopped and then reached for the left side of his waistband. The officer grabbed the arm and told Rodriguez multiple times to get out of the vehicle. He resisted and when the driver’s door was opened, Rodriguez allegedly struck the officer in the face, knocking his sunglasses off. Rodriguez had to be tased in order for officers to get him into handcuffs.

• Glen Anton Sherley, 22, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony; and theft, a fifth-degree felony. On Aug. 1, he allegedly took possession of a 2017 Toyota Camry knowing it had been stolen, and also allegedly took an iPhone 14 without consent from another person. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

• Irene Cynthia Elizondo, 49, Toledo, for receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony. On Aug. 3 on Helen Drive in Perrysburg, she allegedly took possession of a 2008 Volkswagen Touareg while knowing it had been stolen. She was found on Aug. 3 in possession of the vehicle.

• Dusten Allan Hunt, 36, Findlay, for assault, a first-degree misdemeanor. On Aug. 6 in Portage, he allegedly struck a woman and a child multiple times in the head and face with a closed fist. He had previously been convicted of domestic violence in 2015 in Crawford County.

• Edward Romeo Huckaby, 40, Gahanna, for money laundering, a third-degree felony; and two counts possession of criminal tools, both fifth-degree felonies. On Oct. 26, he allegedly conducted or attempted to conduct a transaction with the purpose of conducting a corrupt activity. He was found in possession of $44,833 and two iPhones, a TCL flip phone and a Samsung phone. All are subject to forfeiture.

• Alexandria Nicole Strong, 30, of Toledo, for domestic violence, a third-degree felony. On Aug. 26, officers were dispatched to a business on Crossroads Parkway, Rossford, for an altercation. Strong allegedly struck a man in the back with a lighter and twice in the mouth. She had previously been convicted of three counts of domestic violence, in 2022 in Lucas County and in 2020 and 2021 Isabella County in Michigan.

• Caleb Andrew Patterson, 35, Findlay, for violating a protection order, a fifth-degree felony. On July 7, he allegedly recklessly violated the terms of a protection order. He had been convicted of a similar charge in 2022 in Tiffin-Fostoria Municipal Court.
