BG police investigate attempted B&Es

Bowling Green police responded on Monday to Parkview Drive for a report of two boys trying to enter mobile homes.

According to the Bowling Green Police Division report, at 2:07 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Parkview Drive for two males wearing hooded sweatshirts attempting to get inside a home.

Multiple officers began searching the area and spotted two boys wearing hooded sweatshirts walking north. A foot pursuit ensued.

One of the boys, later identified as being 13 years old, obeyed additional commands and stopped. He was placed in handcuffs. He was cooperative and answered questions, according to the report.

He told officers the other boy, later identified as 15 years old, said they should try to open the doors of homes.

He reportedly said attempts were made to enter two homes. At one lot, the 15-year-old reporteedly ripped off a screen.

After that they headed north when the older boy told him to run, according to the 13-year-old’s statements to police.

The 15-year-old was found at his home. He denied any involvement and said he had been asleep. His mother’s boyfriend said he hadn’t left the home all night.

Police located the clothes he was described wearing and confiscated them, along with his shoes.

Cell phones belong to the two boys also were confiscated.
