The Cocoon, Wood County’s only comprehensive domestic and sexual violence agency, has received a $6,500 grant from the Westfield Insurance Foundation.

As one of the largest non-public companies in Ohio, Westfield Insurance is committed to helping friends and neighbors in need. Through the Westfield Insurance Foundation, they work to improve the safety and stability of communities.

At the recommendation of the First Insurance Group of Bowling Green, the Cocoon was nominated for and has been awarded a grant of $6,500.

These unrestricted funds will go toward supporting vital programs like emergency safe shelter, 24/7 access to trained advocates and support groups.

With these partnerships, the Cocoon can provide services to over 800 survivors and their children every year, completely free of cost. By offering no-cost services, the Cocoon is actively removing barriers for those seeking to break free from abuse.
