A Toledo man was arrested for theft after he allegedly entered an apartment and stole vehicle keys.

On Monday at 3:10 a.m., Bowling Green police responded to a possible theft in the 200 block of East Wooster Street.

Dispatch provided a description of the suspect, who was located standing in a backyard in the 100 block of South Summit Street.

The officer asked the man several times to “come here,” but the man failed to follow directions, so the officer approached and told him to get on the ground, according to a Bowling Green Police Division report.

The officer reportedly grabbed his arm and attempted a balance displacement to take him to the ground.

A second officer was needed to take the man, who weighed more than 350 pounds, to the ground, according to the report.

Tyler O’Neal, 24, was placed in handcuffs.

The alleged victim said O’Neal walked into his apartment with a group of people and grabbed a set of keys before exiting. Two sets of keys were reportedly found in O’ Neal’s pants pocket.

O’Neal was arrested for theft, criminal trespassing and resisting arrest and was taken to jail.
