Locoweed on Woodlands stage

PERRYSBURG — Wednesday at Woodlands continues noon with Locoweed. The lunchtime concerts take place in the Woodlands Park shelter area, 429 E. Boundary St.

Bring a packed lunch and a chair, or sit it at one of the many picnic tables in and around the shelter area in both the sun or shade.

Locoweed is commemorating its 50th year and is recognized as the catalyst that launched the country rock movement in Northwest Ohio. Locoweed, emerged in 1973 as a trailblazing band when country and rock music seemed like polar opposites. The band’s distinct sound and genre-defying music quickly developed as a niche. The band embraced the notion they were “too country to be rock and roll, and too rock and roll to be country.”

Prosperity is Possible bus tour stops in BG

On Monday, Americans for Prosperity-Ohio will be joined by U.S. Rep. Bob Latta, R-Bowling Green, for its Prosperity is Possible bus tour at Mr. Spots, 206 N. Main St., to bring attention to the economic issues affecting regular Ohioans, including jobs, inflation and energy production.

The almost 40-year-old restaurant will be rolling back its prices to what they were in the 1980s, setting up a conversation around Reaganomics and Bidenomics.
