Knox Boxes available to BG elderly, disabled

The Bowling Green Fire Division has purchased 19 additional residential Knox Boxes to give to approved citizens utilizing American Rescue Plan Act funding provided to the Bowling Green Firefighters Community Benefit Fund.

Knox Boxes are used to gain access to elderly or disabled patients in an emergency when that patient is unable to get to the door themselves. Having this box saves precious time and costly damage to the doors and windows of residences, according to a Wednesday news release from the city.

An online application is available at www.bgohio.org/knoxbox. Residents may also contact the fire division for more information at 419-352-3651.
