A one-vehicle crash in front of the Bowling Green post office sent the allegedly impaired driver to the hospital.

On Sunday shortly after 2:30 p.m., Bowling Green police were dispatched to the intersection of Main and Pearl streets for an auto accident.

Anthony Duconge, 28, BG, was northbound on South Main Street and attempted to turn left onto Pearl Street. His 2012 Jeep Compass left the roadway and struck a utility pole that was on the west side of the roadway before coming to rest in the back parking lot of the post office, according to the Bowling Green Police Division crash report.

Officers found the vehicle with a light pole on the roof and Duconge lying on the pavement. He admitted to consuming alcohol, according to the incident report.

An inventory of the vehicle found a tote in the trunk with several items of marijuana, including 0.6 grams, 1 ounce THC resin and 1 package cannabis flower, according to the police report. Marijuana paraphernalia was reportedly found, including a bong, pipe and one hit.

Duconge was taken to Wood County Hospital by BG EMS because he stated he was suicidal, according to the report.

A search warrant blood alcohol test was requested.

Duconge was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct while intoxicated
