Perrysburg summer rec hosts end-of-summer events

PERRYSBURG — The city’s summer recreation program has been in full swing since June with over 50 different activities keeping kids ages 3-14 years old busy this summer.

The most popular program this year was Games and Giggles with 210 children participating. Dodgeball was the second most popular with 160 kids registered. By the end of the program, recreation staff will have given out 2,880 Freezie Pops to the kids.

Next week is final week of programming and there are several free events scheduled for that week. All activities take place at Municipal Park, 915 Elm St.

On Wednesday, the Kids Color Run will take place at 11 a.m. with the half mile. The one mile will begin at 11:30 a.m. First Night Out will be held from 6-9:15 p.m. Perrysburg police will be serving free hot dogs to participants. This event will also feature several outdoor games including an inflatable obstacle course and a dunk tank. The Glow Roll will start at 9:30 p.m. Kids can bring their decorated and lit-up bikes to Municipal Park to ride around at dusk.

Thursday will be the Last Day at the Park event from 10 am.-1 p.m. Families can show up for a free hot dog lunch, participate in the inflatable obstacle course, dunk tank, outdoor games and much more!

First Night Out and Last Day at the Park are free, open house events with a variety of activities for children.

Registration is required for kids who want to participate in the Color Run and Glow Roll. Parents can sign them up on rec desk.
