This year, the Wood County Fair is introducing a new online gate admissions program.

For the first time, presale tickets will be offered online, said Paul Perry, second vice president of the fair board.

This will allow people to purchase their tickets before coming to the fair and they will be able to walk right up to the gate, show their ticket and go through without having to wait in line.

Tickets will still be available for purchase at the gates. General admission is $10 and passes for the entire week can be purchased for $30.

Perry said this program should allow for shorter admission lines and help entrance into the fair run smoother.

“Trying to relieve a little bit of the work on our admission people, trying to cut down on lines, make things go smoother,” he said.

With the new kids’ section and new ticket program, Perry said he is excited for the week and encourages people to come and support the fair and check out everything it has to offer.

“The fair is truly a friends and family fun-filled environment,” he said. “You know, the meaning of the fair is all about our kids, the kids of Wood County that work countless hours with their animals and their projects and everything that they’re showing at the fair, and it’s just really great to see the community come out as they have for 150 years now and support the youth of Wood County.”
