Bowling Green police were called to apartments in the 2000 block of Napoleon Road twice within three hours for a criminal damaging and burglary report.

A Bowling Green man was arrested for allegedly slashing a tire after police responded at 10:03 p.m. Wednesday to a criminal damaging report.

The caller reportedly saw Serus Walters walk over to a Mazda SUV parked outside her apartment and slash the rear passenger tire, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

Walters was treated at the hospital for injuries sustained in an undisclosed altercation before being taken back to the apartment complex.

Walters, 18, was arrested for criminal damaging and was taken to jail.

Three hours earlier, just before 7 p.m., officers were called to the same block for a report of a man who said he was assaulted by a woman.

Nyere Grant had a bruised and swollen left eye and fresh blood on her face. She told the officer she went to the alleged victim’s apartment to get her belongings, but he would not let her in. She said she forced her way into the apartment and went to the man’s room to grab her belongings when he allegedly started throwing her around and kept punching her face, according to the police report.

She was transported to the hospital.

The man told officers he had told Grant to come back at a different time to get her things. He said Grant wouldn’t leave and bit his hand and face.

He also was transported to the hospital for his injuries, according to the report.

It was later learned Grant was not allowed at the apartment without permission. She first said she wanted to file charges against the man for assault but then changed her mind.

Grant, 20, Lyndhurst, was arrested for aggravated burglary and was taken to jail.
