Issue 1: 60% really is a true majority

To the Editor:

Contrary to what some folks would like us to believe, passing Issue 1 would solidify majority rule rather than undermine it. No one can honestly think that 60% of the voters is “a small making decisions for everyone else.” When I leaned math 60% was significantly more than 40%.

No matter what the issue is, 60% is much more likely to be a true majority than 50% plus 1. With all the concerns that have arisen with recent elections, we can hardly assume that one vote is a true majority. It would be much more difficult to cheat on a 10% majority than on a slim vote majority.

If it’s important enough to vote on, then it’s important to do it right.

Please vote yes on Issue 1.
