A Toledo man will have to pay back more than $60,000 to a business impacted by his false bomb threat.

Del’rico Wallace, 26, appeared Monday in the courtroom of Wood County Common Pleas Judge Molly Mack.

He pleaded guilty to the amended count of inducing panic, a fifth-degree felony.

According to Wood County Assistant Prosecutor Lara Rump, on Aug. 29, 2019, Perrysburg police responded to SCHÜTZ Container Systems on South Wilkinson Way for a reported bomb threat.

The person making the report said they had received a phone call from someone saying a bomb was going to go off.

The business was evacuated and all shipping ceased, Rump said.

A K-9 unit responded and no bomb was found, she said.

Investigators learned it was Wallace who made the call, which had an impact on the business valued at $64,166.

Wallace has agreed to make restitution in that amount.

Mack said she could impose a prison sentence of six-18 months.

Rump recommended a sentence of community control.

Sentencing was set for Sept. 18.
