BG school board holds special meeting

The Bowling Green City Schools Board of Education will not hold its Tuesday regular board meeting, which was adopted as an “if needed” meeting.

The board will instead hold a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the administrative offices, 137 Clough St.

The board will immediately go into executive session to discuss compensation of a public employee. Action may be taken.

Haskins, Martindale roads resurfaced

The Haskins Road resurfacing project started Friday.

This portion of work includes the milling and paving of Haskins from Newton Road to Parker Avenue.

Access to businesses, homes and one lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained. Intermittent traffic delays should be expected.

As soon as work is complete on the remaining portion of the water/sewer line replacement project, this same crew will return to the area to mill and pave the remaining portion of Haskins between Parker and West Wooster Street and Wooster from Haskins to Church Street.

Martindale Road will be closed between West Wooster and Pearl streets Tuesday-Wednesday, from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. for liquid road resurfacing.

Wayne food distribution is Thursday

WAYNE — The monthly food distribution for the Wayne area will be held Thursday from 9-10 am at the Wayne Fire Hall, 200 N. Center St. The food distribution is for those in the 43466 zip code.

Streets close for Firefly Nights

In conjunction with Friday’s Firefly Nights festival, certain street closures and parking restrictions will be imposed downtown.

On-street parking will be prohibited on Main Street, from Court to Washington streets, and on East Clough Street, from Main to Prospect Street, at 2 p.m.

Main, from Court to Washington, and East Clough Street, from Main to Prospect, will close to traffic at 4 p.m. While Main is closed, no through traffic will be permitted on Clough. Wooster Street will remain open for east and westbound traffic.

During the Main Street closure, detour routes for local and truck traffic will be posted.

All streets will reopen and parking will be reinstated on Friday following the event.
