‘Yes’ on Issue 1 will keep outside interests out of Ohio

To the Editor:

A recent letter to the editor pointed out the hypocrisy of some who are recommending a “no” vote on Issue 1.

The writer said it this way: “It is interesting that the League of Women Voters, the ACLU and others opposing Issue 1 require 60% approval to amend their government documents.” (Issue 1 will stop special interests from taking advantage, July 12.)

Seems these folks are really saying, “Do as I say, not as I do.” Voters beware.

Another recent letter to the editor cautioned that groups from outside Ohio are pushing against Issue 1, noting that these groups “are loyal to the Democratic party and campaign and raise money to push progressive and liberal policies nationwide …” (Fight ‘political weirdness’: Vote ‘yes’ on Issue 1, July 12.)

Again, informed voters here in Ohio need to resist outside, misinformed influence groups by voting “yes” on Issue 1.
