Fall football preview: Loeffler talks to Exchange Club

The Exchange Club of Bowling Green will be hosting guest speaker, Scot Loeffler, Bowling Green State University, on July 18 at noon at the Bowling Green Country Club.

Scot Loeffler is in his fifth season as the head coach. The 20th head coach of the football program, Loeffler came to BGSU after serving as deputy head coach and offensive coordinator at Boston College.

Loeffler’s coaching career, which spans back to his time as a student assistant at Michigan during the 1996 season, includes stops at Michigan, Central Michigan, Florida, Temple, Auburn, Virginia Tech and Boston College. He also spent a year coaching the quarterbacks for the Detroit Lions.

A native of Barberton, Ohio, Loeffler played quarterback at Michigan from 1993-96. A 1998 graduate of Michigan, Loeffler earned his undergraduate degree in history with a minor in political science.

Loeffler will be giving the club a preview of the fall season.

The Exchange Club is a community service organization whose three programs of service are Americanism, community service and youth programs. The Exchange National Service Project is Child Abuse Prevention.

The club members meet at the Bowling Green Country Club on Tuesdays at noon. Meetings are open to the public – no reservation necessary. For more information, contact Jenny Swope at 419-806-4202.
