Understanding Alzheimer’s: Program offered in Northwood

NORTHWOOD — The Alzheimer’s Association Northwest Ohio Chapter is offering the program Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia, 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Parkcliffe Community at Northwood, 3055 E. Plaza Blvd.

learn about the impact of Alzheimer’s, the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia, stages and risk factors, and current research and treatments available for some symptoms.

Pre-registration is required. To register, call the Alzheimer’s Association’s 24/7 Helpline at 800-272-3900.

There are 493,000 people caring for 220,000 Ohioans age 65 and older living with Alzheimer’s disease, according to the Alzheimer’s Association “2023 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures.” The number of Ohio residents living with Alzheimer’s is expected to increase to 250,000 by 2025.
