Mobile mammography van visits area locations

The Mercy Health mobile mammography unit delivers 3D mammograms to women age 40 and older. It is equipped with the newest 3D technology and offers patients the option of self-compression, meaning the patient will have the ability to control the compression once they are in position.

While mammogram screenings may be covered by insurance, for best coverage, verify if Mercy Health – St. Charles Hospital is an in-network provider. For those who are uninsured or underinsured (have high deductibles), there are financial need-based assistance programs available. Some may qualify for a no-cost mammogram. Kids can kayak and fish with county parks

These Wood County Park District programs are planned for July.

Nurture the Nursery will be held Tuesday from 10 a.m.- noon at J.C. Reuthinger Memorial Preserve, 30730 Oregon Road, Perrysburg. Help plant, maintain and harvest seed from the native plants in the nursery. All tools provided. Training will be provided at the beginning of the program. This is a volunteer program. Kids Kayak Paddle & Play is set for Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. at W.W. Knight Nature Preserve, 29530 White Road, Perrysburg Youth paddlers prepare to get soaked. 11–14-year-olds learn proper paddling strokes and safety procedures to enjoy safe kayaking. After instruction, take part in a series of competitive solo and team on-the-water games to build comfort and confidence. Kayaks, gear and PFDs provided. Program fee: $15, FWCP $12.

A Family Fishing Night is Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. at W.W. Knight Nature Preserve, 29530 White Road, Perrysburg Share an evening with the family in a natural setting and try to catch a big one. A limited number of poles and bait will be provided, and you are free to bring your own.

Old State Line plays at Wednesdays at Woodlands

PERRYSBURG — Wednesday at Woodlands continues Wednesday at noon with Old State Line.

The lunchtime concerts take place in the Woodlands Park shelter area, 429 E. Boundary St. Bring a chair or a packed lunch and sit at one of the many picnic tables in and around the shelter area in both the sun and shade.

Old State Line is a musical ensemble that combines the harmonious melodies of guitar, bass, mandolin, fiddle, dobro and percussions creating a fusion of rock, country and folk influences.

Band members include percussion by Larry Meyer (drums), Ramsey Abu-Absi (guitar), Cindy Lipman (fiddle), Randy Monk (guitar), Mike Malone (guitar), David Gstalder (mandolin) and Mike Peters (dobro).

Judge Reger talks to Kiwanis Club

The Bowling Green Kiwanis Club will meet Thursday at the Slater Family Ice Arena Lounge on the campus of Bowling Green State University. The public is invited to attend.

The meeting will start at noon, with lunch available starting at 11:30 a.m.

Judge Matt Reger from the Wood County Common Pleas Court will share his insights on “Perspective and Prescience from the Bench.”
