Find out about Wood County Amateur Radio Club at weekend event

The Wood County Amateur Radio Club will host the annual ARRL Field Day event at the Wood County Museum, 13660 County Home Road, Saturday and Sunday.

Club members will set up several amateur radio stations on the grounds by using existing trees to support temporary antennas with all equipment powered by emergency power sources.

The event starts at noon on Saturday with the installation of antennas.

Actual radio operation starts at 2 p.m. Saturday and runs continuously for 24 hours until 2 p.m. Sunday.

Field Day allows ham radio operators to demonstrate their ability to provide emergency communications in the event that normal methods are unavailable.
