Bowling Green Manor has new features — inside and outside.

The rehabilitation and long-term care facility dedicated its new entrance and a new service line for ventilator care earlier this month.

“It really complements what we have to offer (a more welcoming, five-star facility),” Victoria Torres, business office manager, said of the new entrance. “It is more accessible to the community with a back parking lot.”

The pulmonary program is designed to provide highly coordinated ventilator care with individualized treatment plans for each patient. Bowling Green Manor’s Interdisciplinary Team includes physicians, respiratory therapists, registered nurses, trained therapists (physical, occupational and speech), dietitians and social services.

“We offer 24-hour nursing care, respiratory therapy and ventilator unit,” Torres said. “We also have a brand-new gym.”

Bowling Green Manor has had a tradition of caring since 1968. Their vision is to instill a family culture through world-class service with a constant attention to detail.

“It is a tradition of caring. There is longevity with the staff,” Torres said. “Aides have been here for 25-plus years. We have provided quality care since the beginning.”

Their core values consist of the letters in the WE CARE acronym: Wholeheartedness, Excellence, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect and Ethical.

“Everyday, we install our WE CARE team values in both the company and community. We constantly have things going on each month for our staff and community,” Torres said. “When we see success stories, it’s the best. That let’s us know we did our job.”

They are managed by HCF Inc.

Formed in 1968, HCF was formed by a small group of concerned individuals who recognized the need for compassionate and rehabilitative care for the sick and elderly. This group of people would lay the foundation for Bowling Green Manor and began the process of making quality nursing homes a reality.

Today, the HCF company is owned by Joan Unverferth and is operated by Kerri Romes, who is a third generation of the Unverferth family.
