Eric Peck has filed his petition to run for election to the at-large position on Bowling Green Council.

Peck will bring a tremendous amount of public service experience to the role, according to a press release.

“It has been an honor to serve throughout my community in my life and I want to continue to help all citizens in my local neighborhood,” Peck said. “Since graduating from Bowling Green State University, giving back has always been a top priority for me.

“My education at this great university has set me up tremendously in my career so far, and now it’s time to give back to this great city. My main goal in this campaign is to make sure every person in this city has a voice that is heard. Transparency, honesty and the ability to work with citizens for a better future is how I envision my leadership. I wish to continue to use both my experience and energy to enthusiastically serve Bowling Green residents for the foreseeable future.”

Peck has nearly a decade of experience as a volunteer firefighter in his local communities where he served as a treasurer and vice president for the fire department. He also has 3 1/2 years of school board experience at the Madison Avenue School of Arts in Toledo.

He is a vice president of business intelligence and analytics in a corporate finance role at a luxury handbag company in New York, for which he works out of his home office in Bowling Green. He credits his success in his life to the education he received at BGSU, which ultimately led him home to Bowling Green where he resides with his wife, Hannah.

Peck also serves on the Economics Advisory Board and Young Alumni College of Business Board at BGSU.

Peck’s education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a Master of Business Administration both from BGSU. While attending the university, he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in two years and fell in love with the city of Bowling Green.

Peck’s priorities:

· Making sure every citizen within the city has a voice that is heard in the decision process.

· Ensuring all tax dollars are being spent correctly and eliminating wasteful spending.

· Ensuring proper zoning where no citizens suffer and all concerns are addressed and heard.

· Promoting economic development that ensures every taxpayer dollar has meaning and is being used in a financially appropriate manner that creates a return on investment for taxpayers.

· Reenforcing sustainability within the city where efforts are progressing in innovative and sustainable ways for the future.
