Health commissioner shares assessment plan with Exchange Club

The Exchange Club of Bowling Green welcomes Ben Robison, Wood County health commissioner, to the Tuesday noon meeting at Bowling Green Country Club, 923 Fairview Ave.

Robison will be speaking about the Wood County Community Health Assessment and Implementation Plan.

The mission of Wood County Health Department is to prevent disease, promote healthy lifestyles and protect the health of everyone in Wood County. Created in 1920, the health department serves more than 120,000 Wood County residents. Guided by the board of health members, the health commissioner and the employees of Wood County Health Department operate on a $7 million annual budget.

Robison graduated from Bowling Green High School and Bowling Green State University. He earned a master’s degree in public health administration from the Northwest Ohio Consortium for Public Health and has worked in emergency preparedness and public health for more than a decade. He accepted the health commissioner position in 2020.

The Exchange Club is a group of community-focused individuals that meets weekly to “exchange” ideas, listen to interesting speakers, network and socialize.
