New playgrounds now open at Perrysburg parks

PERRYSBURG — New playground equipment has been installed and is ready for use at Bicentennial and Municipal parks.

The playgrounds were taken down in December due to their age and the difficulty of finding replacement parts to keep them operating safely.

The Woodlands Park playground remains under construction but is scheduled to be completed by the end of this month. It is being replaced with a new, inclusive playground.

Some of the equipment from Woodlands and Municipal Parks was removed by Missions International of America. They will be re-installing it during one of their mission trips to a school in Haiti.

Funding for the new playground equipment came from $1.3 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds.
