Former BG mayor talks about Capitol Hill memories

The Bowling Green Kiwanis will meet on Thursday at the Wood County Senior Center, 140 S Grove St. The public is welcome to attend. The meeting starts at noon and lunch is available starting at 11:30 a.m.

Dick Edwards, retired mayor of Bowling Green, will talk about Memories and Reflections from My Years on Capitol Hill. He was elected as mayor in 2011 and served for two terms before retiring in 2019. He had a long career in higher education administration beginning with his alma mater, Kent State University. Before joining the staff of Bowling Green State University President Hollis Moore in 1971, Edwards was with the National Science Foundation in Washington, D.C. He later served as an executive officer with Wright State and East Carolina Universities. He returned to BG in 1994 as the Wood County administrator before retiring in 2000.
