The Leadership BG Class of 2023 raised $6,427 for The Bowling Green Firefighters Community Benefit Fund. Funds were raised throughout the community via a Touch-A-Truck Fundraiser and online awareness campaign.

“This class put in many hours planning this fundraiser, and we are so happy that the community supports the great work that our Bowling Green Fire Division continues to do to go above and beyond for Bowling Green,” said Hallie Williams, Leadership BG 23 class member. “We want to thank all the sponsors of this fundraiser, including The City of Bowling Green, The Wood County Sheriff, Wood County District Public Library, William Vaughan, Ohio Logistics, Whiteford Kenworth and the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce.”

Bowling Green Fire Division firefighters recently established this nonprofit to help fill fire safety gaps in the community by providing Knox Home Boxes, 10-year smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, and scholarships to high school students pursuing a career in fire or EMS. The Leadership BG Class is offered annually through the chamber of commerce.

“It was so amazing to see this class go through the process of this Class Project, from the selection of the community needs they were looking to address, and then how the project could support the need both financially and by creating awareness. Everyone in the class participated however they were able, resulting in a very successful project,” said Mary Hinkelman, chamber executive director.
