12-year-old arrested for assaulting police officer

A 12-year-old Bowling Green girl was arrested Friday for assaulting a police officer.

Bowling Green Police Division officers responded to City Park at 6:15 p.m. for a fighting call.

An officer saw a large group of juveniles, and two girls fighting.

A 12-year-old would not stop swinging and attempted to hit a police officer, according to the report.

She was eventually put into a cruiser, where she kicked at the divider. When she calmed down, she was taken to the juvenile detention center, according to the report.

The officer went to Wood County Hospital for an apparent thumb injury.
