SANDUSKY — A Fremont woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday morning on U.S. 6, according to the Fremont Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred on Route 6 near mile post 17 in Sandusky Township, and was reported at 6:05 a.m.
A 2008 Chevrolet Uplander driven by Judith Rapp, 67, was traveling westbound on Route 6. Rapp went across the center median and into the eastbound lanes of traffic before traveling off the southside of the roadway, according to the patrol.
Rapp struck a fence row, a utility pole, and another ditch. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
The patrol was assisted by the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office, Fremont Fire Department, Sandusky County Life Squad, Sandusky County Coroner’s Office and Ash’s Towing.
