PERRYSBURG — Join Way Public Library on June 7 at 1 p.m. for Biking Safety: See and Be Seen.

New or a seasoned cyclists, age 12 to adult, may take the class. Hannah Fairchild will provide information on how to share the road with other vehicles, what safety gear is necessary, what the laws say about cycling, and talk about basic bike parts/maintenance and pre-ride checks. Registration is not required.

From 2:30-3:30 p.m., Mercy Health will also present Kids Biking Safely. Fairchild will educate youth and their parents (pre-school/kindergarten) about how to stay safe, as well as the importance of safety while biking. The topics covered include helmets, additional safety equipment, bicycle sizing, and where/when it is safe for kids to ride. Bring a bike and helmet to have them fit-checked. Registration is required for each child participating (not for adults) in this children’s program.
