BG restaurants donate proceeds to fireworks

Juniper Brewing Company announces the return of Giving Mondays as their way to give back to the Bowling Green Community.

They will donate 15% of all the day’s sales to the beneficiary. The Giving Monday will be June 5, and will benefit BG Boom Festival and Fireworks.

Stop in anytime either day to enjoy the food and beverages. There is no coupon to present, no special code to provide, just eat, drink and show your support of the event. Sales include all eat in and dine out.

Juniper Brewing Company is located at 145 S. Main St. and their hours are 8 a.m.-8 p.m. every Monday.

Beckett’s Burger Bar and SamB’s will hold a “Give a Fork” day-long benefit, donating 15% of all the day’s sales to BG Boom Festival and Fireworks.

The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Foundation announced that the benefit nights will be Tuesday at Beckett’s Burger Bar and June 13 at SamB’s Restaurant.

Beckett’s Burger Bar is located at 163 S. Main St. and their hours on Tuesday are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sam B’s Restaurant is located at 146 N. Main St. and their hours on Tuesday are 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

Hear about ‘Round Barns of America’ at museum

The Wood County Museum will host a meet and greet and book signing event with Robert Kroeger, author of “Round Barns of America” on Wednesday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Wood County Museum.

This event is free for Wood County Historical Society members and $7 for non-members.

“Round Barns of America”, this book features 75 round barns in 32 states – from the east coast to the Wild West – along with their paintings and stories. There are 11 Ohio round barns in the book, which was published by Acclaim Press in 2022.

Camp-in-a-Box this summer at the library

Families can spend summer learning and playing with Camp-in-a-Box at the Wood County District Public Library.

Camp-in-a-Box sessions are Tuesdays, on June 6, 13, 20 and 27 at 1 p.m. with the theme of Design Squad.

Camp-in-a-Box: Design Squad is a weekly, STEM-focused, hour-long program designed for students ages eight and up.

Designed and funded by Ohio Learn 360 and the Ohio Department of Education, and made available to WCDPL by WBGU-PBS, students will learn about engineering and design process, forces of motion, simple machines and more as they design and build robo-wheels, hovercraft, watercraft and floating boxes.

Mosaic unveiled at senior center

The Friends of Wood County Committee on Aging invites the community to attend the dedication of the new mosaic project on June 7 at 10 a.m. at the Wood County Senior Center, 140 S. Grove St.

This mosaic project, supported by the Friends of WCCOA, was designed and created by local artist, Gail Christofferson of Animal House Glass in Tontogany.

This community-based project involved older adults throughout Wood County, as the 10 panels were taken to each of the eight senior centers in the county.

The project will be installed in the dining room.
