Perrysburg’s Gibbs NLL Player of the Year

Perrysburg senior midfielder Megan Gibbs, who will play collegiate lacrosse at Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan, is the Northern Lakes League Player of the Year.

Gibbs led Perrysburg to its sixth straight NLL lacrosse championship, dating back seven years (excluding Covid year 2020). The Yellow Jackets finished the season 15-3 overall and were a perfect 6-0 in the NLL.

Perrysburg players joining Gibbs on the first team include junior attacks Ariyah Ellis and Sara Yager, senior midfielder Taytum Lincoln, and senior defensemen Abby Robertson and Meagan Hilleary.

Also getting first team honors at attack are AW junior Peyton Tully and AW senior Gabby Villagomez. Sylvania Northview senior Georgia Palko and Sylvania Southview junior Maddie Thompson are first team midfielders.

AW senior Hailey Rizzo and Southview junior Synai Peters are first team defenseman and AW senior Hannah Rizzo is a first team goalie.

Finishing second behind Perrysburg was AW (11-7, 4-2), followed by Southview (6-8, 2-4) and Northview (4-12-1, 0-6).

Perrysburg’s second team choices are senior attack Lauren Gorcz, senior defenseman Olivia Meinke, and junior goalie Shaye Ledyard. Perrysburg sophomore midfielder Shauna Frederickson is third team.
