The 16-year-old boy and 15-year-old girl were both from Cadillac, Michigan,

A wider search found the vehicle parked in Bowling Green State University Lot 12 off East Poe Road.

Two occupants were seen in the back under a blanket, according to the BGPD report.

The vehicle was packed with belongings and a small silver case found in the back contained a large amount of cash, gold and silver, according to the police report.

Officers also found $105 located in the glove box and an old prescription bottle with crushed up crystal.

The two were taken to the juvenile detention center, where the boy told officers they ran away because the girl’s mother kept trying to split them up.

The cash amounted to $6,055 and the 2012 Jeep was valued at $7,000.

Coins including 20 half dollars, numerous gold and silver encased coins, one large 1,000 gram silver bar and two 10-ounce silver bars were confiscated. Their value was unknown.
