Haskins post office temporarily closes

HASKINS — United States Postal Service operations at the Haskins post office, 100 N. Findlay Road, will be suspended as of close of business day today, according to a Friday press release by the USPS.

The suspension is due to the lease agreement ending and USPS is working on opening a modular unit in Haskins. The opening date has not been determined.

In the interim, P.O. box customers can pick up their mail at the Bowling Green Post Office, 111 W. Washington St. Hours of operation for the Bowling Green post office are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The lobby is open 24 hours for P.O. box access.

Newton Road resurfacing begins

The West Newton Road Resurfacing Project is scheduled to begin on May 30.

This project includes the milling and paving of West Newton Road from Brim Road to North Main Street and a small section of North Main at the intersection. Access to businesses and one lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.

Intermittent traffic delays and closures should be expected over the next couple of months as the project progresses. Dependent upon weather and progress of work, the entire project is anticipated to be complete by Aug. 1.

Perry Twp. Trustees vote on ambulance district

FOSTORIA — The Perry Township Trustees will hold a special meeting on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the fire station to sign a resolution to create a joint ambulance district.
