Trish Hausknecht of Metroparks Toledo will give an illustrated talk about the expanding park system on Tuesday at a meeting of the Bowling Green Exchange Club.

Open to the public, a buffet lunch at noon will precede the talk at the Bowling Green Country Club. The cost is $13.

Hausknecht speaks from a wealth of experience with Metroparks. Currently marketing and event manager, she previously was manager of volunteer services, boosting the number of park volunteers to 5,000. In her current role on the outreach team, she shares her passion for the parks and love of connecting people with them.

The Metroparks continue to grow in number. Phase 2 of Glass City Metropark in East Toledo, including the Market Hall, a restaurant, the Ribbon skating trail and three nature-themed children’s play areas, will open with a first weekend celebration June 9-11.

Hausknecht, who has worked at the Metroparks for 20 years, will answer questions from the audience following her presentation.

The Bowling Green Exchange Club has provided volunteer services and support for community organizations for more than 75 years. Visit the club’s website to learn about the group’s activities and how to become a member.
