Lourdes’ Jagodzinski, Jackson earn academic all-district

Lourdes University’s Harrison Jackson (Lake) and Ryan Jagodzinski (Rossford), have all been selected to the 2023 Academic All-District First Team for baseball in the NAIA division as selected by College Sports Communicators.

Jackson, an outfielder, hit .274 this season. He had a team-high 10 doubles while hitting five home runs and driving in 34 runs. He led the team with 13 stolen bases. Jackson is a business administration major with a 3.61 GPA.

Jagodzinski, an outfielder, posted a .323 batting average. He was second on the team with 53 hits and 40 runs scored while driving in 19 runs. He also stole 11 bases. In the classroom Jagodzinski is a graduate student in the business administration program with a 3.81 GPA.

They are joined by teammates Josh Hare (Simcoe, Ont./Holy Trinity),Wyatt Smith (Wynford), and Michael Strzelewicz (Monroe St. Mary’s, Mich.)

Hare, a designated hitter, batted .298 for the Gray Wolves this season. He had 22 runs batted in and seven doubles while scoring 23 times. In the classroom, Hare sports a 3.99 cumulative grade point average as an accounting major.

Smith, a right-handed pitcher, led the staff with a 5-2 record. He threw a team-high 57 innings, registering a 4.89 earned run average while striking out 50 hitters. He carries a 3.88 PA in sport management.

Strzelewicz, an infielder, batted .314 this season. He had three homers and 26 RBI while also recording seven doubles. As a graduate student in business administration, Strzelewicz carries a 3.95 GPA.

To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must hold at least sophomore status, own a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and be either a starter or key reserve.

By being named to the Academic All-District First Team, the five advance to Academic All-America Team ballot, where All-America honorees will be selected in early June.
