Perrysburg boys runner-up at NLL meet

NAPOLEON — The Perrysburg boys track team finished second during the Northern Lakes League meet Friday, scoring 105¼ points to finish behind champion Sylvania Southview (149) in the team standings.

Anthony Wayne was third with 104 points, followed by Springfield (75), Sylvania Northview (73½), Napoleon (68¾), Maumee (45¼), and Bowling Green (40¼).

BG’s Kadin Shank won the 300 hurdles in 39.52 seconds, edging out second place Southview hurdler Logan Howe (39.58) by less than one-tenth of a second. In the 110 hurdles, Shank finished in 15.32 seconds to place second behind Howe (14.64).

In the 400-meter dash, Perrysburg’s Aiden Owens finished in 51.07 seconds, good enough for second place behind Napoleon sprinter Landin Wiechers (50.65).

In field events, Perrysburg’s Jacob Tinney won the high jump, clearing six feet, four inches. Springfield jumper Aaron Adams was second at 6-2.

In the pole vault, Perrysburg’s Iain Hall cleared 11-6, good enough for second place behind AW vaulter Cameron Nightingale (13-6).

Perrysburg thrower Derrick Newlove placed second in the discus with a toss of 133-5. Maumee’s Dominic Incorvaia won the championship with a throw of 134-7.
