Man cited for having firearm while intoxicated in BG

A Lucas County man was cited for having a firearm while intoxicated in Bowling Green.

Friday at 8:17 p.m., a Bowling Green police officer observed a red Honda northbound on North Main Street with a tinted and severely damaged windshield.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and upon approach, the driver, identified as Scott Fosgate, said there was a firearm inside a cooler in the back seat, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

Upon detecting a smell of alcoholic beverage on Fosgate and noting his slurred speech, the officer conducted sobriety tests.

Fosgate, 55, of Holland, was cited for OVI (BAC 0.065), open container, using weapons while intoxicated and unsafe motor vehicle.
