Students of the Month

Bowling Green High School

The Bowling Green Exchange Club and Bowling Green High School announced that Caroline Lake was the May Student of the Month.

Lake was a senior and graduated on May 28. She is the daughter of Jeffrey and Denise Lake.

Lake’s school honors and activities include membership in the National Honors Society, French Honors Society, and the International Thespian Society. She spends much of her time as a member of StuCrew, Drama Club and the BGHS Madrigals. She had many lead roles in BGHS drama club and musical productions.

Outside of school, Lake volunteered for the American Red Cross Blood Drive, Lake Theater Camp, Toledo Ohio Stake Youth Committee, and the Toledo Stake Girl’s Camp.

Lake had a 4.29 GPA, a composite ACT score of 30, and ranked 11th in her graduating class.

She plans to attend Brigham Young University and major in editing and publishing.

Otsego High School

TONTOGANY — Emma Gerhardt was the May Student of the Month at Otsego High School.

The daughter of Angela and Chad Gerhardt, Weston, she graduated with a 4.0 gpa.

Gerhardt was an honor roll student for four years and plans to attend Bowling Green State University.

Also honored were Penta Career Center representative Dakota Babock, junior Stacey Anderson, sophomore Sophie Dimick and freshman Julia Schroeder.

Babcock, the son of Amanda Balmoria and John Balmoria, Wayne, is a senior and has been a four-year member of the band (trombone) and one-year member of the Outdoorsman Club.

Dimick is the daughter of Sharlyn Katzner and Steven Dimick. She is on the honor roll and participates in choir, varsity basketball and varsity track.

Anderson is the daughter of Brad Anderson. She participates in chorale, prom committee and art club.

Schroeder is the daughter of Sarah Schroeder and Joseph Schroeder. She placed first in county and district for parliamentary procedure in FFA and also participates on the junior varsity track and JV basketball teams.

Eastwood High School

PEMBERVILLE — Morgan McMillin was the May Student of the Month at Eastwood High School.

She is the daughter of Jobe and Tiffany McMillin, Bowling Green.

The senior played varsity volleyball for the Eagles and graduated with a 4.3 gpa.

She plans to attend Owens Community College to study vasculor sonography.

Elmwood High School

BLOOMDALE — Silas Nietz was the May Student of the Month at Elmwood High School.

He is the son of Leah and Kerry Nietz, Wayne.

He was a member of the National Honor Society, and the marching, pep and jazz bands.

He volunteers as a soundboard technician at Mt. Zion United Brethren Church and is a worship team member at Church of the Good Shepherd.

He plans to attend Bowling Green State University to major in music composition.

North Baltimore High School

NORTH BALTIMORE — Kaitlyn Kelley was awarded Student of the Month by the North Baltimore High School staff for May.

Not only does she excel academically with a 3.95 gpa, but she also participates in sports, playing both softball and volleyball throughout her high school career.

After graduation, she plans on attending the University of Phoenix to become a mental health counselor
