Thompson talks development, Abbott to BG Exchange Club

Katie Thompson, executive director of the Bowling Green Economic Development Department, will be the speaker at the club’s Tuesday lunch meeting at noon at Bowling Green Country Club.

The topic will be the new Abbott Lab facility coming to BG and other development in the city.

As executive director, Thompson leads BGED and is responsible for industry attraction, retention and expansion.

Thompson owns and operates Eden Fashion Boutique, a contemporary women’s clothing store in downtown. In addition, she, along with three other female entrepreneurs, created Firefly Nights.

Thompson holds a bachelor’s in marketing and a Master’s of Organization Development from Bowling Green State University. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and six children, traveling anywhere warm, remodeling their home and riding her Peloton.

The Exchange Club is a community service organization with a primary focus on Americanism, Community Service, Youth Programs and Child Abuse Prevention. Its membership is diverse and is comprised of people who want to enjoy and better our community. The meetings are open to the public. There is a $13 charge for lunch.
