ROSSFORD — Country music stars Ashley McBryde and Gary LeVox have been lined up to headline Rossford’s 125th anniversary celebration.

On June 16-18, Rossford will celebrate the 1898 founding of the city by Edward Ford, who created a new “company town” to be focused on glass making.

“They’re two amazing national acts. We’re very excited that we’re able to produce a music festival with acts of this caliber, for a very inexpensive ticket price,” Mayor Neil MacKinnon III said. “It should be a great two nights of entertainment. Whether you are between the ages of 8 or 80, this is beyond a magical line-up for Rossford’s first annual music festival, which is celebrating Rossford’s 125th anniversary.”

Headlining the performances will be country stars McBryde on June 16, and LeVox, who has performed with Rascal Flatts, will be playing on June 17 with special guest Walker Montgomey. The festival will conclude with a free polka band performance by DynaBrasson June 18.

“We have a maximum capacity of about 4,500 and we’re selling general admission tickets for $15. Our goal is to break even. Any money left over is to go towards the second annual Rossford Music Festival,” MacKinnon said.

MacKinnon said that the average ticket price for a concert in the United States is $90.

McBryde is a six-time Grammy nominee who started her career as a country music singer in biker bars. Her Grammy Award-winning duet with Carly Pearce, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” went all the way to No. 1. It earned the Academy of Country Music Awards and Country Music Association award for Musical Event of the Year.

LeVox gained his fame as the front man for the band Rascal Flatts. Over his 20 years in the band it was one of the biggest acts in country music, with multiple awards. He has now gone solo with his latest album “One on One.” The song “We Got Fight” is featured in the credits for the Netflix film “The Ice Road.”

The concerts will be held at 400 Dixie Hwy., behind the Rossford Recreation Department.

Opening for LeVox will be emerging country music singer Montgomery, the son of John Michael Montgomery and the nephew of Montgomery Gentry’s Eddie Montgomery.

The polka band, DynaBrasson, will be on Sunday. It’s a free show, with a pierogi eating contest, MacKinnon said.

The city will have live music, food trucks, street vendors, the pierogi eating contest, and other activities throughout downtown Rossford, featuring local musicians performing throughout the weekend.

Tickets are available at etix.com and the Stranahan Theater box office.
