All of Ohio could be at risk for severe weather on Wednesday

During a briefing with the National Weather Service in Cleveland on Monday, it was shared that the entire state of Ohio is forecasted in the “slight risk” (level 2 of 5) for severe weather on Wednesday, according to the Wood County Emergency Management Agency.

Late Tuesday night, scattered showers are expected throughout Wood County. There is a possibility Wednesday will remain cloudy, and if that happens the chance of severe weather will be reduced. However, a bright and sunny Wednesday will aid in the formation of severe weather.

The primary concern for this event is strong wind gusts, isolated hail and tornadic activity.

Because the weather is 48 hours away, the exact timing and severity of this weather event is still unclear. NWS Cleveland has scheduled a briefing for Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. to provide additional updates. Based on their current assessment, parts of Ohio may be elevated to the “enhanced risk” (level 3 of 5) on Tuesday.
