Governor DeWine to visit BG’s Conneaut Elementary

Bowling Green City Schools will host Governor Mike DeWine for a brief visit to Conneaut Elementary on Tuesday at 1 p.m.

According to Director Melissa Weber-Mayrer, the visit is to showcase districts like Bowling Green who have spent time, effort, and funding to ensure that teachers have what they need to best meet the needs of all readers in your district.

The governor is looking forward to seeing the science of reading in action and hearing how the district is shifting from a balanced literacy approach to a more structured literacy approach in its elementary buildings.

Superintendent Francis Scruci and the Executive Director of Teaching & Learning Angela Schaal are looking forward to sharing the great work that is being done in BGCS schools by students, teachers and staff.
